The first Filipino to earn a doctorate degree in Art History from Harvard University, Dr. Rod Paras-Perez has written numerous books, monographs, and critical articles on Filipino artists and art forms that have consequently built the body of knowledge on Philippine Art from the 1960’s until his death in 2011. To highlight the contributions of Dr. Paras-Perez, the Lopez Museum and Library is collaborating with his estate to showcase select writings and memorabilia, which give insight into the man behind the writing, who has also been the museum’s consultant for a number of years.

This library exhibition is mounted to commemorate the 80th birth anniversary of the eminent scholar-artist and is jointly curated by Ricky Francisco and Ethel Villafranca.

The exhibit opens on April 7 and will be on view until May 31, 2014. For more info, call Tina at 631-2417.
