Curtains Up! Rarefied and Musical


Today 3:00 pm at the Lopez Museum and Library, the Lyrical Opera of the Philippines performed opera and classic Broadway hits by Verdi, Puccini, Bizet, Lehar, Bernstein, Wildhorn, Rodgers, Hammerstein, Hamlisch, Weber, Boublil, and Schönberg.

Tenors Glenn Gaerlan, Sherwin Sozon, and Randy Gilongo; sopranos Ana Feleo, Kay Balajadia Liggayu, and Patrice Pacis sang songs from operas such as Carmen, La Boheme, and Madame Butterfly as well as Broadway hits from the productions of West Side Story, Cats, and Miss Saigon.

LyrOpera strives to revive the golden age of opera in the Philippines by presenting opera productions of outstanding quality, nurturing the appreciation of opera, music, and the performing arts through education and outreach programs.
