Join the Lopez Museum and Library as they hold a one-day workshop on Art Handling on July 17, 2013 from 9 am to 4 pm. Learn how museum and gallery workers handle precious national treasures as Collection Management consultants Peter Natividad and Ricky Francisco facilitate the workshop.
The workshop will include lectures on Preventive Conservation as well as Materials and Equipment commonly used for handling specific objects. The rest of the workshop will be about handling 2 and 3-dimensional objects and will include a hands-on activity on transporting objects.
Ricky Francisco is an independent museum, gallery and conservation consultant currently working with the Lopez Museum and a few other private institutions in Manila and Singapore. He is an advocate of Preventive Conservation and has received training from various institutions such as the ICCROM (Rome, Italy), SEAMEO-SPAFA (Bangkok, Thailand), the Heritage Conservation Centre of Singapore, the National University of Singapore Conservation Laboratory, and the National Museum of the Philippines.
Peter Natividad is currently working as a Collections Management Consultant in the Lopez Museum. He also consults for various institutions such as the Iglesia Ni Cristo Centennial Museum and Gallery and Banco de Oro. He received his diploma in Art Conservation from the National Research Laboratory for Conservation of Cultural Property in Lucknow, India. He is the founding member of the Philippine Museum Collections Management Group and sits as one of the Board of Directors for the Angono Artists Association.
Registration fee for the lecture is Php 1,500.00.

The Lopez Memorial Museum is at the ground floor, Benpres Building Exchange Road corner Meralco Avenue, Pasig City. Museum days and hours are Mondays-Saturdays, 8am-5pm, except holidays.
