The Lopez Memorial Museum has teamed up once again with Pilipinas Street Plan, Knowledge Channel and Boysen Paints for Gawa/Laro: Toymaking Workshop Part 2 to be held on April 16, 9am-12noon. Open to kids ages 6-above, the workshop will have them paint a taka, a traditional art form of Paete, Laguna, to create a toy. Another method of creating a toy would be by means of assembly; participants will create a toy by putting together a variety of materials. The toymaking activity provides young participants with the opportunity to know and work with a traditional artform, and to recycle materials. This would also allow them to help other children as one of the toys they made will be sold. Proceeds of sales will go to Knowledge Channel for its programs for schoolchildren in the country.

Paints, brushes and taka will be provided for which a minimal fee of Php1,000.00 would be required, but participants have to bring the materials they wish to assemble to create a toy. To register, visit or call the museum.

The Lopez Memorial Museum is at the ground floor, Benpres Building, Exchange Road corner Meralco Avenue, Pasig. Museum days and hours are Mondays-Saturdays, except holidays, 8am-5pm. For more information, please call 6312417/6359545 or email
