Discover the thrill of making your own toys, and get down and dirty with your inner child this summer! Join Jomike Tejido’s Foldabots art workshop happening at the Lopez Museum for three consecutive Saturday mornings, on May 8, 15 and 22, 2011.
In this three-day workshop, participants will learn Tejido’s creative process of conceptual design, prototype construction, and final art of making robot toys. Participants hone not just their drawing skills but their spatial relations as well, including basic paper engineering and strength of forms, basic 3D drawing and coloring, character design and descriptive writing. The final product will be a craft book compilation of the participants’ works.
Tejido, a University of Santo Tomas alumnus, passed the architect licensure exams in 2007. He is also a painter and book illustrator who has two Philippine National Children’s Book Awards under his belt. Aside from hosting the kiddie arts and crafts show “Art is Kool” (2004-2006), Tejido, 29, is also known for his “Mikrokosmos” comic strip in the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Jomike Tejido’s Foldabots art workshop is limited to 16 slots only. Fee of P3,000 includes all art materials. Registration ends on April 20, 2011. For inquiries, call Fanny at 631-2417.
