The Lopez Memorial Museum and the University of the Philippines’ College of Mass Communications (UP CMC) present the third Obra Maestra Mamera series featuring artist Yason Banal this September 15, 2007 (Saturday) from 2-4pm at the Sr. Caridad Barrion Hall, St Scholastica’s College in Manila.
His talk is a mix of artist slideshow, lecture and performance.
Banal has a BA in Film and Audio-Visual Communications from the University of the Philippines, a Masters in Fine Art from Goldsmiths College, University of London, United Kingdom (UK) and a Certificate in Experimental Fashion from Central Saint Martin’s, also in the UK. He has participated in several international exhibitions – most recently at the Singapore Biennale, Tokyo National University of Fine Art & Music, UC Berkeley, University of San Francisco, Gallery Primo Alonso and the Tate Museum. He is also a columnist for the Philippine Star and assistant professor at the University of the Philippines Film Institute.
